The secret is out: I’m a Star Trek nerd. But that really has nothing to do with this post, just a fun way to start.
We (CanTorque) were recently contacted about an application that required a solution that certainly wasn’t “on the shelf”.

The main issue was that there isn’t enough room between the nuts. Originally torque to 8,000 Lbf/ft, we estimated that it could take up to 10,000 Lbf/ft to break loose.
Our customer had contacted and tried tools from 3 different manufacturers before one of them suggested that we’d be able to come up with a solution for them.
I took the call, customer sent a series of pictures and I formulated a gameplay to help them out.
Now, the solution that I came up with was something that only CanTorque was able to offer: machining one of our RT-20 wrenches to be able to fit. Not only were we able to offer this solution but, from the time that we took the first call we had a customized tool in the customer’s hands in less than 24 hours.

From the time they received our tool we had the nuts loose in under an hour.
“The tool works and fits perfectly! Thank you so much Colin we appreciate you guys being able to find a solution for us 👍”-a happy new customer.
I’ve said for years “Anyone can supply a tool, and, for the most part the new tools all work well. It’s how a company responds when there’s an issue that separates the good from the bad”. Very happy that we were able to knock this one out of the park!
