Our relationship with CanTorque dates back to 2000 when we purchased a 1000ton guillotine-a device used to break large metal objects like cars into small pieces of steel that can later be recycled into new products. Once the guillotine was commissioned, we struggled to maintain the fastener load on the cutter blades, which loosened, failed and caused us to shut down prematurely to repair the drum and replace the blades. These premature outages cost us valuable production time and additional operation expenses from the resulting repairs.
Because this was a new operation to us, we were at a loss as to how to adequately tighten the blade bolts. Shortly after contacting CanTorque they quickly offered tooling options. Not only were they able to provide us with a tooling solution they have also been there with us every step of the way, supporting us with maintenance, repairs and further tooling suggestions for any of our new applications.
We will continue to use CanTorque as our first and only supplier of fastener tools.
